This is a 45-bed adult residential rehabilitation program and in keeping with the ‘No Wrong Door’ belief, integration with our primary care and mental health services just makes sense. The Residential Treatment Center is a mainstay in the region’s addiction treatment system, and is in the vanguard of programs offering co-occurring mental health treatment. Treatment offered at our Residential Treatment Center uses the evidence-based Modified Therapeutic Community model. Our Residential Treatment Center also houses our detoxification program. This residential detoxification program is conducted in a licensed, medically monitored facility. This seven-to-fourteen day program assists the substance-abusing client with round-the-clock treatment for physical detoxification from alcohol and other drugs. Substance abuse counselors are on-site 24 hours a day. Most of our successful clients go forward with further treatment. Whether through our Outpatient Program or Residential Treatment, our clients are assured that additional services are available.

Strategies For Change (formerly Chemical Dependency Center For Women)
Location: Sacramento, CA - 95823
Contact Phone: (916) 395-3552
Website: http://strategies4change.org/
Description: Strategies for Change, formerly known as Chemical Dependency Center for Women was founded in 1978 under the name Women’s Stress Alternatives, with the original purpose of treating women addicted to prescription medications. It soon became apparent that addiction issues went beyond prescription abuse. Women’s Stress Alternatives evolved to become Chemical Dependency Center for Women. Since the early years, Chemical Dependency Center for Women established itself as a cornerstone within Sacramento’s recovery community, specializing in the treatment of women facing addiction. For 30 years, our names have reflected our origin and ongoing commitment to the particular and unique needs of women, especially those who have been victimized by childhood or adult trauma. Over time, the focus on women has not changed, instead, a deeper understanding of the complex needs of the family as a whole and of the children affected by multi generational drug use and trauma has led to the development of a comprehensive array of services geared to support women, men, families and youth. Chemical dependency rarely occurs in isolation. Years of treatment history has given us a keen understanding of the layers of issues and problems people with substance abuse issues face as they move toward sustained sobriety. Co-occurring issues such as trauma, and mental health often accompany and compound these issues. Since 2005 we have included integrated co-occurring disorders treatment as part of our menu of services. Providing integerated substance abuse treatment and mental health, co-occurring & support services for adults, youth & families reflects our longstanding concern for treating the whole person, and recognizing the importance of ensuring that entry into any one system can provide access to all needed systems.

For more than 37 years, Diogenes Youth Services has cared for these runaway, homeless and at-risk youth. Our agency started in 1969 as a counseling and crisis intervention center and has grown to become one of the only local non-profit agencies offering free comprehensive services focused primarily on 12 to 17 year-olds. Diogenes is committed to improving both individual lives and the community we live in. Our philosophy is not to "rescue" troubled teens, but actively involve them in the process of solving their problems and conflicts, so that they will become responsible, contributing members of society. We have been recognized over the years by many organizations, including the County Board of Supervisors, for our effectiveness.
