Description: The Awareness Group provides alcohol and drug education and treatment programs, and is the oldest program of its kind in the Desert area of Riverside County. Founding director Howard Bibby's principles and knowledge in dealing with impaired drivers are maintained by a dedicated staff of professionals. We continue to raise awareness about the dangers and potential consequences of driving under the influence as well as general drug and alcohol abuse. We have over 30 years of experience with the DUI process and will help you fulfill your Court and Department of Motor Vehicles obligations. Awareness Program DUI Classes help to satisfy the court requirements for clients who have been arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) or an offense requiring a Drug Diversion (PC1000) program. Staff work closely with the Department of Motor Vehicles to provide the paperwork for clients to restore their driver's licenses. All counselors are State Certified, and all programs are licensed by the State of California and approved by Riverside County. The Awareness Group provides these required programs in a supportive and friendly environment. Showing respect for each individual's dignity and acting with professionalism are at the core of program services. Programs are designed to meet the needs of individuals, helping them make a lifestyle change in addition to meeting their court requirements. We have two offices to better serve the Desert communities of Bermuda Dunes, Cathedral City, Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, Indian Wells, Indio, La Quinta, Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, Thousand Palms, and Thermal.
Crc Health Group - Desert Treatment Clinic
Location: Palm Springs, CA - 92262
Contact Phone: (760) 322-9065
Website: http://www.crchealth.com/
Description: Located at 1330 N. Indian Canyon Drive, Suite A, in Palm Springs, California, the Desert Treatment Clinic provides medically supervised methadone maintenance and Suboxone (buprenorphine) detox treatment to individuals who are attempting to overcome an addiction to or dependence upon heroin or other opioids. Methadone hydrochloride is a synthetic "opioid agonist," which means that it acts in a way that is similar to morphine and other narcotic medications. When used in proper doses as part of a medically supervised opioid addiction treatment program, methadone blocks cravings and other withdrawal symptoms without creating the euphoric or sedative states that result from opioid abuse. Buprenorphine is a partial opioid receptor agonist. Like methadone, buprenorphine can relieve opioid withdrawal symptoms without producing the intoxicating effects that are associated with opioid abuse. Buprenorphine was the first medication for the treatment of opioid dependence to be approved under the Drug Addiction Treatment Act of 2000. To be eligible for this type of treatment at the Desert Treatment Clinic, prospective patients much be at least 18 years old, and must have been addicted to or dependent upon opiates for a minimum of one year prior to seeking treatment.
