Description: In 1972, a man named Dean Duncan and other local businessmen made it their mission to provide a safe haven for homeless alcoholic men. The following year CAP was incorporated as a treatment program for alcoholism. Over the years it has evolved to meet greater addiction recovery needs in the community. CAP now offers detoxification and stabilization services, residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation treatment and transitional living for adult men and women. Committed to rebuilding lives, families, and communities CAP serves over 200 clients a year. Through its services CAP provides clients with the skills and tools to help recover from addiction and build independent sustainable lives in the community. The residential programs are based on the 12-step rehabilitation model. In the program clients receive drug education, individual and group counseling. In addition, CAP rehabilitation program offers classes in anger management, self-esteem, and trauma and abuse. Clients also attend weekly parenting and relationship classes to develop their communication skills and build healthier families. The general environment at Comprehensive Addiction Programs, Inc. is based on learning to work together to solve problems as a dependency-free community. The environment at CAP is home-like. Clients can step out of their rooms into Serenity Garden and enjoy the fresh air and the calmness of nature. There is a baseball field, basketball court, horseshoe pit and open field where clients can play sports and games. Description: Since 1997, Spirit of Woman has provided and managed treatment programs for pregnant and parenting women in need of substance abuse intervention. We provide this type of support through inpatient, aftercare, and sober living programs. From 1997 to 2000, Spirit of Woman leased facilities through another organization that served as its fiscal agent. In 2000, the organization was incorporated as a nonprofit and leased a 24-unit apartment complex that served over 30 women and 75 children daily. In 2004, the organization relocated to its current site where it can provide inpatient services for 70 women and 105 children, making it one of the primary residential substance abuse treatment facilities for women with children in Fresno County. Spirit of Woman is licensed and certified by the State of California Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Programs to operate an intensive inpatient drug treatment program with aftercare. Spirit of Woman provides all of its services in accordance with the Perinatal Services Network Guidelines (2009), Title 9 Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs licensing requirements for treatment facilities, and models for implementing trauma-specific services.

Description: The Quest House is a 26 bed, residential, co-ed facility, providing treatment for substance abuse, and other related problems for parolees who are eligible for Substance Abuse Services Coordinating Agency (SASCA) funded services and for other referrals. The program can serve Regular SASCA, SB1453 SASCA, In Custody Drug Treatment Program (ICDTP) SASCA and Mandatory Conditions of Parole (MCOP) referrals. There are some variations with the different program stipulations and regulations based upon SASCA Guidelines, which will affect different aspects of each resident’s treatment episode. The Quest House may also provide services for other California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) funded referrals and may be an appropriate facility for private pay individuals that are seeking treatment due to legal issues. Program resources are in a therapeutic atmosphere with parolees giving support and cross-training to one another in a structured accountable environment. Regardless of individual circumstances, deficits and backgrounds, people have the ability to change and grow, to lead healthy law-abiding productive lifestyles. Services are geared to maximize the resources available through the program. Through a mix of individualized and group services, the resident is exposed to programming that is basic and suitable, as well as counseling and treatment activities geared to their specific needs.
