Description: East Corner Clubhouse is a program of Community Research Foundation. East Corner Clubhouse operates on the work ordered day model where activities related to the operation of the program are utilized as opportunities for member participation, training, and recovery. The program is member directed and membership is life long. At East Corner Clubhouse, different functions necessary for the program’s operation are divided into departments. All tasks are completed voluntarily by members who learn through experience and practice. In addition to certain necessary departments, East Corner Clubhouse offers training and work experience in other work areas as requested by the membership whenever possible. All staff is dedicated to the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation and actively partnering with the members to achieve their personal goals. The clubhouses provide services in a culturally sensitive manner. The purpose of East Corner Clubhouse is to help smembers obtain the experience and training which will enable them to integrate into the community. Description: Located at 234 N. Magnolia Avenue in El Cajon, California, the El Cajon Treatment Center/San Diego Health Alliance provides medically supervised methadone maintenance and Suboxone (buprenorphine) detox treatment to individuals who are attempting to overcome an addiction to or dependence upon heroin or other opioids. Methadone hydrochloride is a synthetic "opioid agonist," which means that it acts in a way that is similar to morphine and other narcotic medications. When used in proper doses as part of a medically supervised opioid addiction treatment program, methadone blocks cravings and other withdrawal symptoms without creating the euphoric or sedative states that result from opioid abuse. Buprenorphine is a partial opioid receptor agonist. Like methadone, buprenorphine can relieve opioid withdrawal symptoms without producing the intoxicating effects that are associated with opioid abuse. Buprenorphine was the first medication for the treatment of opioid dependence to be approved under the Drug Addiction Treatment Act of 2000. To be eligible for this type of treatment at the the El Cajon Treatment Center/San Diego Health Alliance, prospective patients much be at least 18 years old, and must have been addicted to or dependent upon opiates for a minimum of one year prior to seeking treatment.

Description: Heartland BPSR Wellness Recovery Center is a Bio-Psychosocial Rehabilitation program of Community Research Foundation that provides integrated, coordinated community-based psychosocial rehabilitation services for adults 18 and older who have serious mental illness, as well as individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance disorders. Description: Our East County Center for Change program is the case management and treatment provider for San Diego’s East County Division Adult Drug Court. We work collaboratively with other members of the Drug Court Team, who include the Judge, court support staff, District Attorney, Public Defender, and law enforcement liaison officers. Our treatment services offer group and individual counseling, and our case management services provide for mental health, education, employment and community referral needs. We serve individuals who have a substance abuse issue in conjunction with criminal charges, who the courts believe would benefit from our structured treatment program.
