Incorporated in 1974 as a 501(c)3 non-profit, the organization continued to grow as Phoenix South Community Mental Health Center when federal funding ceased in 1979. Alpha Medical Service Location: Phoenix, AZ - 85016 Contact Phone: (602) 955-7997 Website: http://communitymedicalservices.org/ Description: Community Medical Services is a CARF–accredited addiction treatment program providing services in the form of outpatient drug replacement therapy and private one–on–one counseling to those seeking help with their substance addictions. We have two Arizona locations which cater to Phoenix, Glendale, Mesa, Scottsdale, and Tempe; a clinic in Tucson which caters to the surrounding areas including Sierra Vista and Casa Grande and three clinics in Montana located in Missoula, Kalispell, and Billings, which cater to clients in Bozeman and Helena as well as to clients in Williston and Dickinson, North Dakota. It is our philosophy that outpatient drug replacement therapy along with counseling is an effective treatment for individuals who are physically dependent on substances such as drugs or alcohol. Medical care is provided by certified addiction specialists who will prescribe the proper medication based on an evaluation of your individual needs. Medications often used consist of Methadone, Suboxone, and Buprenorphine to treat pain pill, heroin, and other opiate addictions with the ultimate goal being to detox individuals off all forms of medication when possible. Counseling is recommended to anyone who is dependent on drugs or alcohol. Working with a counselor can help you understand your dependency and how to cope with it. Counseling focuses on what is called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as a technique called Motivational Interviewing. Both of these techniques can help in changing the way individuals process information leading to non–drug use outcomes. Group counseling is also a beneficial means of dealing with like issues and can be arranged if requested. |

However, like other chronic but manageable illnesses, with the right treatments and services, the harm of serious addictive disorders can be dramatically reduced. Importantly, by working with families and communities, addiction can often be prevented altogether. For more than three decades, Compass Behavioral Health Care has been a leader in quality and affordable behavioral health care in Southern Arizona. Our continuum of care begins with prevention and early intervention, and emphasizes reaching those who are most at risk and vulnerable-- Tucson children and adolescents. Acute care for adults is provided at our detoxification center, Desert Hope. Continuing treatment and stabilization services are provided at our residential centers-- the Joan E. McNamara Center for New Directions and Vida Serena. Our available outpatient services further recovery and prevent relapse for individuals, groups and families. And, because Compass believes that housing IS healthcare, permanent and transitional housing programs are provided at Safe Harbor, Libertad and Vida Nueva. |

Pia's Place Location: Prescott, AZ - 86301 Contact Phone: (928) 445-5081 Website: http://www.piasplace.com Description: At Pia’s Place we believe that all women have the ability to empower themselves, sometimes they just need a little help. That’s why we’re dedicated to helping them, step-by-step, along the way of the recovery process. We are a state licensed extended care treatment facility operated by women…for women. Our program is a minimum of 90 days but most of the clients are encouraged to extend up to 4-6 months. Graduation from our program is dependent on meeting certain criteria. There is no guarantee with this disease but it has been proven that the longer they stay in a structured, sober environment, the higher success for long lasting recovery. We are 12-Step based and support 12-Step recovery. A majority of our clients come directly from an in-patient treatment program where she was detoxed, stablilized and began addressing addiction, mental health, relational patterns, possibly completed a family workshop and they are now preparing for discharge. Our goal is to treat the "whole" client. Many of our women have spent 30 days addressing their chemical use, attending 12 step meetings and working with a sponsor. However, they have not fully addressed family of origin issues, traumatic events in their life, cognitive distortions, sex/love addiction, body image distortions etc..Our clients are given tools to achieve a long lasting recovery. We strongly believe in "gender specific" treatment. When addressing core issues/trauma, women need to feel safe and have the atmosphere to do so. A unique difference that Pia's Place has from other facilities, is that we admit no more then 20 women at a time. This allows each client to create a specialized treatment plan. Our therapists use a wide variety of treatment models and therapeutic techniques. Such as art therapy, journaling, CBT and DBT modalities, experiential processes, reading and writing assignments, step work etc. Due to the amount of time they are in treatment with us, it allows the therapists to find the most beneficial type of work. We are firmly rooted in 12-steps and Pia Mellody's model of codependence. However, Pia's Place uses a variety of treatment modalities such as: |
