Details: The Bayview Hunters Point Foundation for Community Improvement, Inc. is a non-profit community-based human services agency founded in 1971. The Youth Service provides drug treatment counseling and home supervision for juvenile probationers. The Youth Service is available to young people between the ages of 11 and 18. Prospective clients are referred to a program counselor who discusses services, the intake process, and program objectives. Following initial discussion with a counselor, an intake and assessment appointment is scheduled. During the first appointment session, the intake process is further explained and required program and service documents are completed. A tour of the facility is provided and any questions posed by the potential client are addressed. On satisfactory completion of intake documents and the initial building of the counselor/client relationship, participation in the Youth Services activities can begin. Youth Services Program activities occur Monday through Friday. Scheduled events outside normal program hours are also available for youth participants.
