Details: Bernie Lorenz Recovery (BLR) is the only program of its kind serving women in Central Iowa who are in recovery. It operates as an integral but independent program of MECCA providing residential treatment and case management services within a half-way house setting. Over the past 19 years, BLR has served more than 1,400 women in the Des Moines area. There is no cure, there is no guarantee, but there is hope. Through the program offered at Bernie Lorenz Recovery, women have the opportunity to recover from the devastating effects of alcoholism and drug addiction.
